This week I have been watching people posting about headshots and branding and marketing and it got me thinking... Why do we feel the pressure to rebrand, reinvent or change ourselves … just be you. The rest will follow authentically.


I have no desire to reinvent myself I’m perfectly happy with who I am and what I have to offer the world ❤️ I guess at 47 years old I know my brand… know who I am and I am totally happy with that but I think that comes with age.


When I first started out in acting I always saw myself one way; but actually people saw me as another way. So for the longest time I thought they were at odds and for a while I was confused. Lost.


All of this got me thinking about branding, it’s not about how I see myself, nor is it how other people see me. It is a mix of how I see myself AND how others see me - and how those mesh together to make a brand that is authentic and intentional and beautiful.


Why force yourself into one box, when you can have multiple layers.

So how DO we get to decipher who we are? One way to find out is to ask people to describe you. This will help shape your path… Thankyou to Jonathan Tilley for the hint on how to do this.

My brand is like a flower, with a busy honey bee nestled deep within. On the surface I am delicate and gentle, yeah sure I can do Disney and sweet commercial and good stuff but peel back the layers and petals and I am feisty and badass (in the best possible way). So my branding tries to show that. I do not do NSFW before you ask.. I firmly say no to that. But I can do animation, video games, promo, commercial, trailers and more... and love every single second of them all!


So in trying to decipher your brand, ask people who know you and also ask some who don’t know you; how would they describe you, how would they describe your voice, your style, your personality and then add the cherry on top how YOU see YOURSELF and use these to form your brand.
